Becoming Rafistol

Roger invented and made a keyboard from wood, leather, string and glue.  He hung it around his neck and powered it with a Lilo foot pump.

The persona of a street clown evolved. Roger named him Rafistol, meaning an improvised patch-and-mend.

He sang his own satirical songs - in French.

Rafistol performed in the cities, town squares and villages, the streets and fetes of France, Italy and Yugoslavia.
